Jurassic World #dinolunch

On 20th May 2015 the pupils and staff at St John's Marlborough were in for a treat when we hosted our first experience theme day at the school over the lunch break.

We took inspiration from the recently released Jurassic World film to create a themed lunch experience that would be a feast for the senses. We created a special menu, which included treats such as Cyclad Burgers, Rock Potatoes and Volcanic Lava Cake!

The marketing and props bought a real wow factor to the day, pupils were wandering around the dining room hearing jungle noises, passing through the jungle trees and finding dinosaur eggs around the servery.

The catering team really brought the day to life, all wearing uniforms, playing a different role on the day. We had a Park Manager, Technicians, Vets and Animal Welfare Officers, all wearing special Jurassic name badges. The effort from the catering team and their contribution to the success of the day was amazing.

The pupils and school staff thought it was fantastic, and the expressions on the students faces when they realised that they had a real T-Rex dinosaur amidst them was amazing. The pupils all rushed to follow the dinosaur outside and get a selfie with him!

All in all it was a great day enjoyed by everyone and we look forward to hosting our next experience theme day event in June, could it be at your school next…watch this space!
